Do You Have Self-Esteem?

What Is Self-Esteem?

Do you consider yourself a confident person? Do you have a good self-image? Are you comfortable in your own skin? If so, you possess a very desirable quality – self-esteem!

Self-esteem is one of my favorite topics to discuss! My website is all about being confident in the body, mind, and everything you have been born with. My biggest message is to be confident in yourself, which is tied heavily to your self-esteem.

So, what is self-esteem? “Esteem” is defined as the image or judgment that you have about yourself. If your face showed up in the dictionary, what would be the definition of you? What comes to mind when you define yourself? That is your self-esteem, and it’s so important and cannot be underestimated! Self-esteem impacts each and every decision you will make in your life.

How Low Self-Esteem Has an Impact

Your self-esteem truly impacts all areas of your life, including your relationships with others. If you have a low self-esteem, your family, friends, coworkers, etc. will not see your full potential. Wouldn’t you rather go through life as the best version of you?

Self-esteem can also greatly impact your mental health. Do you know what it feels like to have a low self-esteem? Have you ever gone through a dark period in your life where you lost your confidence? If you answered yes, please, comment below or shoot me an email – I’m here to help you through it! We all go through seasons in life where we struggle with our self-esteem and confidence – it’s all part of being a normal human being. That’s why we must lean on our support system to get us through it and help build our confidence back up.

When you have a low self-esteem, you may tend to think you are undeserving of anything good coming your way. You tend to have a very poor self-image and therefore will likely make some pretty negative and damaging choices in your life. You’ll rarely set goals, and if you do, they won’t bring you happiness because you’ll tend to have that mindset that you don’t deserve much out of life anyway.

Low self-esteem usually tends to parallel self-destructive behaviors. Again, it’s tied in with that feeling of not being deserving of good. Can you see how sad that is? Low self-esteem is guaranteed to stunt any personal growth. I’ve been there, done that. I went through that downward spiral at one point in my life. I had to claw my way out of it, but look at me now – I am a confident, successful, happy woman!

High Self-Esteem Gives You PURPOSE

On the flip side, let’s talk about what impact having a high self-esteem can have. And let’s not confuse it with being prideful. I’m talking about someone who is confident, who makes the right choices, has healthy relationships, and has a strong mental health…but is also humble. They believe in themselves. They know their PURPOSE in life.

I could go on about having confidence and high self-esteem forever. With that comes believing in yourself. You realize that no one is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes, and THAT’S OK. You don’t compare yourself to someone else. You know you are uniquely made and you embrace the qualities that make you YOU.

A healthy self-esteem also brings a sense of control to your life. You know you’re in the driver’s seat, and you’re writing your own story. You’re confident in who you are and the choices you make. Again, you’re not perfect, but you believe you are here for a great PURPOSE to bring value to this world in your own unique way. Can you relate to that?

Someone with high self-esteem can take on many challenges. You can handle constructive criticism and learn from it. When the going gets tough, you keep on going! And most importantly, I’ll repeat, someone with high self-esteem lives their life with PURPOSE. You wake up in the morning and you know why you’re here and what your plan is. And you make it a point to bring value to others.

You Are Made with a PURPOSE

Never underestimate how important it is to have a healthy, high self-esteem. Can you look in the mirror and define yourself? That’s a great question to think about. What do you want your life to look like?

I want to challenge you to reflect on those around you for a moment. Do you know someone who is struggling with a low self-esteem? Someone who doesn’t believe in himself or herself? Please share this with them. Help give them confidence and build them up. Tell them they’re worth it. You can make more of an impact than you probably realize by giving someone that little boost of confidence they so desperately need!

Lastly, I want you to look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are made with a PURPOSE. Tell yourself that you bring value to this world. That you are enough. Take a chance on yourself. You are worthy and deserving of great things in this life!

Feel free to leave me a comment below or shoot me an email if you need someone to give you that extra little boost of self-esteem. I guarantee we could find your PURPOSE together!
