Do Good. Feel Good.
Do you ever struggle between wanting to find the perfect gift and making that gift meaningful? I do. That’s why I try to search the internet for gifts that give back. I want to do good and feel good and give twice the joy.
Here are some great “gifts for good” ideas that I found while browsing the internet.
Happy Shopping!
Soup Kitchens and Ovarian Cancer Research
If you want to send someone a variety of things that give back, the curated boxes from Packed With Purpose are a great choice. This set includes cookies that donate meals to soup kitchens and toffee that supports ovarian cancer research, and other tasty snacks that give back. There are many other options on the website, too, that support specific causes.
Children With Cancer
This cozy beanie will be essential in their winter wardrobe. We love the cute marled knit and slouchy unisex fit. What makes this gift even more meaningful? The company got its name thanks to the idea of giving a hat to every child with cancer in America. Now, $1 from every Love Your Melon hat sold is donated to nonprofits in the fight against pediatric cancer.=
Veterans, Homeless, Children, and More
When Bombas customers make a purchase, they spark a donation, helping to keep Giving Partner Organizations stocked up with plenty of socks, underwear, and t-shirts to distribute to those who need them. For every Bombas item sold, the company donates one through one of their 3,500+ partners.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital
Inspired by a real St. Jude patient named Chase, this candle is sure to bring a smile to any recipient. With a fragrance of green olive leaves, black fig, and tonka beans and housed in a smiley-face ceramic vessel, it’s a lovely gift for a hostess or friend. A 5% donation from each candle purchase at Paddywax will be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Various Children’s Charity Organizations
New parents will tell you they can never have enough clean bibs. This set from Keababies is made from organic cotton and has water-resistant fleece for added absorption on the back (genius!). Best of all, KeaBabies donates a portion of its sales to several children’s charity organizations each year.
Children in the Foster Care System
The perfect gift idea for a little one in your life, this set comes with Percy, an adorable Weighted Hug Bear to help keep them calm, along with a sound machine, and two pacifiers — plus a gift box and all the trimmings. The Cubs also has a charitable partnership with One Simple Wish, focused on serving children in the foster care system. They can grant wishes for things children in the system often have only dreamed about.
Various Non-Profits
Ten percent of profits from these comfy, breathable compression ICONI (I Can Overcome, Nothing’s Impossible) leggings go toward nonprofit organizations. Some of the company’s favorites are Clothes to Kids of Denver, Minnesota Freedom Fund, the Special Olympics of Colorado, and Healing Wings Foundation.
Hunger Relief
The holidays are a time to celebrate traditions and give back to our communities. This season, Starbucks is partnering with Feeding America to support hunger relief. At participating Starbucks stores within the US from November 19, 2024, through January 2, 2025, Starbucks will donate a meal to Feeding America for every protein box sold.
Feeding America
Pampered Chef is committed to setting a place at the table for everyone through their Round-Up from the Heart® campaign. As Feeding America’s longest cause partner, Pampered Chef will once again feature a new product bundle continuing their legacy. For every Give Back Set purchased, between October 1, 2024 – August 31, 2035, Pampered Chef will donate 10 meals to help people facing hunger.
Pet Rescue
Start off the day with one of the tastiest gifts that give back: Rescue Roast from Grounds and Hounds Coffee. It’s a 100% Arabica medium roast that contains notes of caramel, dark chocolate, red currant, and toasted pecan in every sip. The brand donates all their profits to a new pet rescue organization every month. Grab this as a gift for any coffee lover you know.
Environmental Non-Profits
This blanket features a fire-resistant exterior topside material which makes it perfect for cozying up around the campfire, fire pit or fireplace. It also features cape clips for hands-free use to stay wrapped up while toasting marshmallows. Rumpl currently partners with 1% for the Planet, giving 1% of yearly sales to support their various environmental non-profit members.
Free service dogs provided to adults, kids and veterans with disabilities
St. Francis Winery & Vineyards (at Total Wine) has a partnership with Canine Companions, an organization that provides free service dogs to adults, kids and veterans with disabilities. For every bottle of St. Francis Sonoma County or Reserve wine sold, the winery will contribute $1 up to $100,000 annually to the organization.
Boots to Children in Need
For every pair of galoshes sold by Roma, a donation of a brand-new pair goes to an impoverished child. The popular one-for-one model means every pair sold makes a big impact. To date, Roma has donated over 100,000 rain boots to children in 26 countries, across six continents.
Literacy Programs
Out of Print has donated over 5 million books to communities in need and supported a variety of literacy initiatives. They believe in making a difference, while also supporting the authors, publishers, and artists who helped bring these iconic works to life. Their charitable partners have included: We Need Diverse Books, Books For Africa, PEN America, GLSEN’s Rainbow Library and more.
Clean Drinking Water
For every soap, sugar scrub or body wash you buy, a bar of soap and one month of clean drinking water is donated to a child in need through Hand in Hand’s partnership with organizations around the world. To date, they’ve donated nearly 14 million bars of soap.
Happy Holiday Season from my home to yours!
